Moscow Mayor thanked Muslims for fighting COVID-19

Moscow Mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, awarded the employees and volunteers of the Moscow Muftiyat under the Spiritual Assembly of the Russian Muslims for their active participation in the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus infection in the city.

Vitaly Suchkov, head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations, personally presented letters of thanks to representatives of the Spiritual Assembly and the Moscow Muftiat at the residence of the religious organization.

The Moscow authorities mentioned invaluable assistance of the religious organizations to the Muscovites during the pandemic.

Mufti of Moscow, the head of the Spiritual Assembly of the Russian Muslims, Albir-hazrat Krganov, noted that in 2020, during the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, the employees of the Moscow Muftiyat organized and held several large charitable campaigns in Moscow under the name “We are with you!”, “Marathon of Good”, “Good Deeds”. Additional “Hot telephone lines” were created to collect food, belongings and money.
