The leadership of Krasnoyarsk Medical University lifted ban on religious clothes, including hijab, RIA Novosti news agency reports.

Earlier, the supervisory authority demanded from University to repeal the regulations, recognizing them as contrary to the educational law.

Prosecutor's office took up the issue after the incident occurred in March, when a student was expelled for wearing hijab. Thus, the Muslim girl who hailed from Dagestan, broke the inner rules of University which forbade attending classes in the headscarves (except for medical cap) or "in garments that emphasize religious affiliation."

"Upon prosecutor's review of the rules providing for the prohibition of wearing garments that emphasize the religious affiliation of the student, and expulsion of a student, both the orders and regulations were made in line with current legislation,"- said the prosecutor's office.

In late March, Dagestani diaspora in Krasnoyarsk reached an agreement with the leadership of the university, that she will be restored to KrasSMU in September, in the third year, and provided that she would no longer wear the hijab at school.
