Kazakhstan and Tajikistan to exchange experience in the prevention of extremism
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Civil Society of Kazakhstan and the Committee for Religious Affairs, the regulation of national traditions, celebrations and ceremonies under the Government of Tajikistan signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document was signed on Wednesday in Astana within the framework of the official visit of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, the press service of the Kazakh ministry reported.
 
"The Memorandum provides for the exchange of experience in the implementation of State policy in the sphere of religion, including on the prevention of religious extremism," the report said.
 
It is planned that the parties will organize meetings and events on issues of mutual interest, including on conducting explanatory work to prevent the spread of destructive religious ideology and manifestations of religious extremism.
 
The heads of the Kazakh and Tajik agencies, Nurlan Yermekbaev and Davlotzada Sulaimon, who signed the document, also discussed issues of bilateral cooperation.
