Imams of Kazan to pass sports standards

Imams of the city of Kazan headed by the Mufti of the Republic Kamil Hazrat Samigullin gathered at the stadium "Trudovye Rezervi" in Vakhitovsky district to take part for the first time in the testing of the performance standards of the All-Russian physical culture and sports test complex GTO (Ready for work and defense).
 
This is the first session of representatives of Kazan muhtasibats, republican Imam-muhtasibs, however, passed their first tests in June this year in Chistopol.
 
Urban Hazrats will experience physical training in athletics, strength exercises and flexibility: running for medium distances (1 to 2 km), crossbar pull ups, trunk lifting from the prone position, push ups, leaning forward on gymnastic bench with straight legs, length jumps and jerk weights (16 kg).
 
More than 60 Imams of the capital, aged 22 to 70, are expected to take part in the implementation of the GTO standards.
 
"In the history of the GTO, Tatarstan is the only Russian region where the Muslim clergy responded to the call of the All-Russian GTO complex and took part in passing the tests," the regional GTO operator in the Republic of Tatarstan reports.
 
Today there are more than 560 thousand people who are involved in the GTO movement in Tatarstan Republic. Tatarstan is one of the leaders in Russia in terms of the number of participants and the number of gold medals awarded in GTO.
