Forum on "Islam in the Far East: stereotypes and reality" held in Khabarovsk

Fourth Muslim forum "Islam in the Far East: stereotypes and reality" organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Far East with the support of the embassy of the Far Eastern Federal District and the government of the Khabarovsk Territory was held in Khabarovsk.
The forum discussed the development of traditional Islam in the Far East, taking into account historical, religious, cultural and interethnic approaches.
Within the framework of the forum, there were roundtables on the themes of interethnic and interreligious harmony, the role of spiritual and moral values ​​in society, the interaction of Muslim organizations, cultural centers, societies.
Women organized a debate on their role in Islam. At the round table, representatives of various confessions discussed with journalists how the work of traditional religious organizations is covered in the media.
The round table reflected on the spiritual and educational moments of interreligious interaction. Teachers, psychologists, theologians spoke about the ethnic and religious components of the spiritual life of the peoples.
An important topic for discussion was the fight against extremism and counteraction to radical currents in the Far East. The forum gathered representatives of religious organizations, authorities, the public, and science.
The first Muslim forum was held in Khabarovsk in 2015 and it was dedicated to the problems and perspectives of Islam in the Far East.
