200 residents of Karachaevo-Cherkessia to perform hajj this year

Some 200 Muslims from Karachaevo-Cherkessia Republic are expected to perform hajj this year, this is almost twice as much as in 2017, the head of the hajj department of the Muslims Spiritual Directorate of the Republic, Jetul-hajji Tambiyev, told Tass on Friday.
"The quota for the Karachaevo-Cherkessia this year is 360 pilgrims. Some 195 residents of the republic applied for hajj - twice as much as a year earlier. The first group of pilgrims will travel to Saudi Arabia on August 9 from Magas, Ingushetia and the second - on August 11 from Grozny," Tambiyev said.
According to him, 70% of applicants from Karachay-Cherkessia are male pilgrims. "Vaccination of believers from various infections was conducted, on Fridays in mosques, training seminars are held on the rules of hajj, each group will be accompanied by two experienced instructors - representatives of the Spiritual Office of Muslims," he added.
