123-year-old Muslim woman passed away in Russia

The oldest citizen of Russia Tanzilya Bisembeeva, who lived in the Krasnoyarsk district of the Astrakhan region, died at the age of 123 years, TASS agency reported with reference to the head of the Krasnoyarsk district Nurgali Baitemirov.

Since January of 2019, the Russian Muslim woman was considered the oldest person in the world. Her record is kept in the Russian Book of Records.

“Tanzilya Bisembeyeva passed away; she was almost 124 years old. All the village came to say her final goodbye. Everyone in the region knew, respected and loved her,” Baitemirov said.

The relatives of an oldest woman told the TASS that she lived with her family. Everyone noted her kindness, optimism and goodwill.

“She no longer went out to the street, talked a little, and mostly was in her bed recently. But at the same time she recognized all the relatives," said the brother of an oldest woman Shintas Bisembeyev.

Tanzilya Bisembeeva was born at the end of the XIX century – on March 14, 1896. She raised four children and had 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In 2016, according to the site of the Russian Book of Records, Tanzilya Bisembeeva was officially recognized as the oldest person in the world when she was 120 years old.
