IDB to start innovation networking platform

The Islamic Development Bank has announced the start of a networking platform with the objective of connecting the IDB and its member countries as well as institutions working on successful innovation projects and replicates them on a bigger scale.

The announcement was made by Osman Mahgoub El-Feil, director of the Knowledge Management and Innovation Special Program at IDB, during a forum titled “Fostering Dynamic Innovation Ecosystems in Developing Economies”.

Is Taking Off One’s Ring for the Restroom an Innovation?

As salamu ‘alaykum respected brothers,

I heard that it was a bid’ah to take one’s ring off while using the restroom when that ring has the name of Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala on it. What is the hukm regarding this matter?

In this fourteenth century of the Islamic era, a recently mushroomed sect known as the Salafis, has invented some new rules which they believe are the Sunnat teachings of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Inspite of their views being in conflict with the teachings of the Salf-e-Saaliheen belonging to the Noblest Ages of Islam (Khairul Quroon), they obstinately cling to their misguided opinions. Their method is to subject the Ahadith to their personal understanding. Inspite of the divergence which this self-opinion produces from the Way of the Ummah inherited from the Sahaabah, the Salafis intransigently cling to their deviation.

 

Celebrating the Prophet’s Birth An Innovation of Guidance

Among the great innovations of guidance is the annual celebration of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) birth(Mawlid un-Nabiy).

This event is commemorated by Muslims all over the world who join together for such reward able deeds as reciting from the Qur’an, chanting Islamic praises, telling the story of the Prophet’s birth, teaching Religious Knowledge, slaughtering animals to feed to the poor, and gathering to thank and praise Allah and ask Him to exalt the honor of Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
