Caricatures in cartoons published in Denmark, France and Germany have caused great distress in the muslim world. however, it is all too obvious that the figures pictured in these caricatures are the artists themselves.

A number of caricatures reflecting the dark mindsets that support violence, drawn by artists with darwinist and materialist views, have been published by a joint decision of the british and french masonic lodges’ supreme councils.

If you don’t like the Mawlid, watch out!

By Hamza Yusuf / 15 Jan 2013

The birthday of the Prophet, God’s peace and blessings be upon him, is a great blessing for our community and, indeed, for all believers. So if we know the day, it should renew our joy manifold times. The Mawlid (his birthday) has traditionally been a time to reflect on – and be grateful for – our Prophet, peace be upon him, and his life, miracles, and the sacrifices he made on behalf of his community. Most of our scholars have considered celebrating the Mawlid as a good practice based upon the sound hadith, “Whoever establishes an excellent practice (sunnah hasanah) in Islam has its reward and the reward of those who act upon it.” This hadith, as some less perspicacious have thought, does not contradict the narration of Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, in which she relates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “Whoever introduces something in this matter of ours that is not from it will find it rejected.”

What to say when hearing the adhan (call to prayer)

1. The Sunnah recommends that while the adhan is being called, one should listen attentively and repeat every line silently after the Mu'adhdhin (the one who calls the adhan), but when he says "Hayya 'alas-Salah" and "Hayya 'ala-l-falah" "حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلاَةِ وَحَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ" one should say:

La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahه لا حولا ولا قوّة إلّا باللّه
(There is no might or power except with ALLAH)
