Helping your Companions

Source : Hadith a day / 25 Aug 2014

Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (radi Allahu anhu) reported: While we were travelling with the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam), a rider came and began to stare on the right and on the left. The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam), said, “He who has an extra mount should hand it over to one who has none, and he who possesses surplus provision, should give it to him who is without provision.” He named various kinds of possessions until we began to think (realise) that none of us had any right to anything surplus.

[Sahih Muslim]

A Day in the Life of a Muslim Woman

Source : Islam Web / 05 Jun 2014

Normal and everyday activities become acts of worship if they are done for the sake of pleasing Allaah. The regular and consistent deeds are the best among these deeds. `Aa`ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that Allaah’s Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The deeds most loved by Allaah are those done regularly, even if they are small.” [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim] This means that we do not need to do anything spectacular in our day to obtain rewards from Allaah, but we should establish some type of routine that incorporates not only the prayer but also reciting the Quran, Du’aa` (supplication), Thikr (mention of Allaah), and other good deeds. This will increase the serenity, patience, and enthusiasm of the believer.

The Marriage Process in Islam

Source : IslamicKnowledge.com / 27 Jun 2014

Selecting a Spouse

The first thing we should look for when marrying is how committed the person is to Islam. Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi was sallam) said, "A woman is normally sought as a wife for her wealth, beauty, nobility, or religiousness (adherence to Islam), but choose a religious woman and you will prosper. " (Muslim) And he said, "A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. You should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a loser. "(Bukhari) And he said, "The whole world is a provision, and the best object of benefit of the world is the pious woman. " (Muslim)
